Community Profiles

Town profiles available at the web site of the Department of Economic and Community Development (DECD) provide basic information about the demographics, economics, education, finance, housing, and labor force for each municipality in the state, as well as subjective measures of "quality of life."

Census Data Profiles are derived from 2000 Census complete count and sample data. They include representative information on general demographic characteristics (population by age, sex, and race; household type (family and non-family); housing occupancy and tenure; selected social characteristics (school enrollment and educational attainment, veteran status, disability status, ancestry); selected economic characteristics (employment, commuting, occupation, industry; income and poverty status); and selected housing characteristics (units in structure, # rooms, vehicles available, heating fuel, value, gross rent, among others).
